Auto Insurance
The right coverage keeps a bad day on the road from becoming a financial disaster, and the right agent makes sure you are not paying for coverage you do not need.
Car Insurance in New Mexico and West Texas
Car insurance is one of the few policies the law actually requires, but the state minimum and the coverage you really need are two very different things. A single serious accident on the highway between Artesia and Carlsbad, or a fender bender in a Hobbs parking lot, can turn into thousands of dollars in repairs, medical bills, and liability faster than most drivers expect.
As a local independent agency, we shop your car insurance across multiple carriers to find the coverage that fits how you actually drive and what you can afford. You get a real person who knows the roads you travel and who is here to help long after the policy is written, especially on the day you have to file a claim.

What Your Auto Policy Covers
A complete policy brings together several coverages, and we help you set each one at the right level.
Liability
Required in both New Mexico and Texas, this pays for the injuries and property damage you cause to others in an at-fault accident, along with related legal costs. It protects other people, not your own car.
Collision and Comprehensive
Collision pays to repair your own vehicle after a crash or a run-in with a pothole. Comprehensive covers the rest: theft, vandalism, fire, hail, and hitting an animal, which is common on our roads at dusk.
Uninsured and Underinsured Motorist
Too many drivers on the road carry little or no insurance. This coverage steps in to pay for your injuries and damage when the at-fault driver cannot, so their mistake does not become your bill.
Medical Payments and Extras
Medical payments help cover treatment for you and your passengers after an accident. We can also add practical extras like roadside assistance, rental reimbursement, and gap coverage on a financed vehicle.
How much car insurance do you actually need?
New Mexico requires drivers to carry at least 25,000 dollars of bodily injury coverage per person, 50,000 dollars per accident, and 10,000 dollars for property damage. Texas sets its own minimums, which are higher. The catch is that those minimums are just a legal floor, not real protection. If you cause a serious accident, the costs can blow past them quickly, and anything above your limit comes out of your own pocket.
Life on the road here carries its own risks, from long stretches of highway and oilfield traffic to sudden monsoon downpours and deer at dawn, and your car insurance should reflect that. We make it simple to add a teen driver, insure a second or third vehicle, or adjust your coverage when you buy or sell a car. And if you ever have an accident, we walk you through the claim step by step instead of leaving you alone with an 800 number.
That is why we usually recommend carrying more than the minimum, and why auto coverage pairs so well with a personal umbrella policy once your liability needs grow. Bundling your car insurance with your homeowners or renters policy is also one of the easiest ways to lower your total premium, often by a meaningful amount.
